This year’s Lambourn Carnival was full of sunshine, smiles and community spirit, and we were right in the middle of it. The Lambourn Junction joined forces with The Lambourn Shed to create a float with a garden theme, and it was great fun putting it all together.
Our float included a shed, planters, a compost bin, garden tables and even a washing line. It was a real team effort with young people and adults working side by side to design and build it. The hard work paid off as our float won first prize in the over 25 foot float category. There may only have been one entry, but we are still proud to say we came first.

The day itself was glorious. Under bright blue skies, the carnival procession made its way around the village with crowds lining the streets to cheer.
We would like to say a special thank you to Farol for the loan of the tractor and to Denton Farms for the loan of the trailer, without which our float would never have got off the ground. A huge thank you also goes to the Lambourn Carnival Committee for all the time and energy they put into organising such a brilliant event. The carnival is a much loved tradition in Lambourn, bringing the whole village together, and this year was no exception. We are already looking forward to next year’s float.
