In conjunction with a number of proactive members of the community, we organise community litter picking events in and around Lambourn. On the day, volunteers come together and we provide basic litter picking equipment (bring your own if you have some!). After a short safety briefing we set off as a group working in designated areas. West Berkshire Council and Veolia have been very supportive and collect the bags of litter we collect.
Community litter picking not only cleans the village and countryside but also is a great way of the community coming together. Our litter picking champion within the Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company is Cathy Brown.
