Warm Lambourn exists to provide practical and compassionate support to local residents who may be struggling to afford heating during colder months. Our primary objective is to help people stay warm without incurring additional energy costs by supplying handmade blankets and other warm items, produced by volunteers within the community. These items not only offer physical comfort but also convey a message of care and recognition for the challenges some residents face.
A further objective is to foster community connection by bringing together individuals of all ages and abilities who share an interest in knitting, crocheting, sewing or simply contributing materials. We welcome experienced crafters, beginners eager to learn, and those wishing to donate surplus yarn and fabric. This shared purpose strengthens local bonds, encourages skill-sharing, and promotes a sense of belonging.
The group will primarily operate through home-based crafting, supported by a central point for the collection and distribution of materials. We aim to develop occasional in-person sessions, including beginner workshops, when feasible. Finished items will be distributed locally through trusted community channels, ensuring that help remains close to home and accessible to those who need it most.
