As a Director of The Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company (CIC), based in Lambourn, England, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction, governance, and community engagement initiatives of our not-for-profit organisation.

Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with fellow directors and stakeholders to develop and implement the CIC’s strategic plan, focusing on initiatives that support the community’s needs and aspirations.
- Provide input and guidance on key strategic decisions, program development, and resource allocation to maximise the impact of our activities.
Community Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between the CIC and the Lambourn community, fostering positive relationships and soliciting feedback on our programs and services.
- Attend community meetings, events, and where relevant to gather input, share information, and promote community involvement in our activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the organisation[CL4] remains responsive to the evolving needs and priorities of the Lambourn community.
Stakeholder Relations:
- Cultivate relationships with local stakeholders, including residents, businesses, community groups, Lambourn Parish Council, government agencies, and other organisations, to build partnerships and leverage resources for mutual benefit.
- Represent the CIC at community forums, networking events, and public meetings to advocate for our mission and objectives.
Governance and Compliance:
- Uphold the highest standards of governance, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of the organisation’s operations, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Actively promote activities and measures which maintain compliance across the organisation. This could involve taking specific governance roles such as health and safety, training etc.
- Attend and actively participate in board meetings, contributing insights and expertise to decision-making processes and governance matters.
- At all times to communicate any concerns about the conduct or administration of the CIC fully and honestly to all members of the Board
Promotion and Advocacy:
- Raise awareness of the CIC’s work and achievements within the Lambourn community and beyond through effective communication and marketing efforts.
- Advocate for the interests and priorities of the Lambourn community, seeking to address issues, challenges, and opportunities that impact residents’ quality of life.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Genuine passion for community development and social impact.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or volunteer leadership roles.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of the Lambourn community and its unique characteristics, challenges, and opportunities.
- A commitment to continuous skills development to maintain skills and certifications up to date including health and safety, compliance, safeguarding.
Time Commitment:
The role of Director at The Lambourn Junction CIC is unpaid and requires a commitment of approximately 5 hours per month. This includes attendance at board meetings, community events, and other organisational activities, as well as time for preparation and follow-up tasks.
