A new community singing group has launched in the Lambourn Valley, bringing people together for an evening of music, laughter and friendship.

The Lambourn Valley Singing Group meets fortnightly on Tuesday evenings from 7.15 pm to 9.00 pm at Walwyn Hall and is open to everyone, whatever their singing experience.

There are no auditions, no pressure and no need to be able to read music. The emphasis is firmly on enjoying singing together in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The group sings a wide variety of well known and popular songs, so whether you are an experienced singer, someone who only sings in the shower, or have never sung with a group before, you will be very welcome.

The group has already attracted around 20 members, demonstrating just how much enthusiasm there is locally for an informal opportunity to sing together.

Community singing is about much more than music. Research has shown that singing with others can help improve wellbeing, reduce stress and increase confidence. It is also a wonderful way of meeting people and making new friends. Most importantly, it is great fun.

The group is organised by Karen and is another community initiative supported by The Lambourn Junction, helping to bring people together through activities which strengthen our community.

Sessions are free to attend, although donations towards the cost of hiring the hall are always very welcome.

If you would like to come along, or simply find out a little more, email singing@lambournjunction.uk or telephone Hayley on 01488 505050.

Come along, find your voice and enjoy singing with the Lambourn Valley Singing Group. You might be surprised by just how much fun you have!
