A year ago, the Lambourn Youth Council created a 100 metre running track on the Old Cricket Field, with the kind permission of Lambourn Parish Council.

The original track was the idea of ten year old Darcy, a member of the Youth Council. With some adult support, young volunteers cut the grass, carefully measured the course and painted the lines. The project was supported by SNG, the National Lottery iWill Fund and Lambourn Parish Council. You can read the original article here.
Following the very dry summer, the grass has now recovered and volunteers from the Lambourn Junction have reinstated the track. The animal safe white playing field paint used to mark the lines was generously donated by a local resident.
The track is available for everyone to enjoy. Whether you are young or old, a serious sprinter or simply fancy a friendly race with family or friends or dogs, you are welcome to give it a go.
A huge thank you to our volunteers, the local resident who donated the paint and Lambourn Parish Council for continuing to make the Old Cricket Field available for community use.
On your marks, get set, go!
