A highly successful defibrillator and CPR training session took place at the Walwyn Hall, with 19 local residents learning potentially lifesaving skills.
The session was led by Ben, a certified defibrillator and CPR trainer, who gave a fantastic, practical course covering how to respond when someone suffers a cardiac arrest, perform CPR and confidently use a defibrillator.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the session and left feeling much more confident about stepping forward to help in an emergency. Ben was brilliant at making the training clear, practical and reassuring, and is already keen to return and run another session.

Knowing how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator can genuinely save a life. This is particularly important in a rural community such as ours, where it can take longer for an ambulance or paramedic to reach an emergency. The actions taken by people at the scene during those first few critical minutes can make an enormous difference.
Following the success of this session, further defibrillator and CPR training sessions are being organised by Hayley Warrick and will be publicised in the coming weeks.
A huge thank you to Ben and to everyone who took part.
