A year ago, 10 volunteers opened the doors to the first ever Lambourn Youth Junction. To their surprise, children were queuing down the street. It was something that the village had needed for a long while and the anticipation was high.

Fast-forward a year and the need is still as great as ever. To celebrate the milestone the Lambourn Youth Junction held a Halloween/1st Birthday celebration. Over 60 children came to party the night away at The Lambourn Centre. With a disco, party games, celebration cake, and lots of other spooky treats, the children all had smiles on their faces.

“As we look forward to the year ahead, our aim is to continue the great work of offering our weekly sessions but also to look to expand the youth provision for Lambourn and the surrounding villages. From sporting events in the holidays to group trips to leisure parks. We want to provide experiences and happy memories for those growing up in our community.” commented Vicky Stretch, one of the volunteers.

Anna Field, one of the founders, added: “Our village youth club is a true community group – from the young people who attend each week, the local charities and businesses who support us, to the amazing volunteers who ensure our youth club is a vibrant and safe place for all. One year in and we are continuing to build on the great start – and we welcome anyone who would like to get involved in this integral village group.”

Lambourn Youth Junction is run purely with volunteers and the kind donations provided by local charities and businesses. Here’s to another successful year.
