Once just an idea, 10 year old Darcy’s vision for turning the old cricket field in Lambourn into a community running track is now becoming reality. The Parish Council has given its approval to paint an 800‑metre route around the field’s perimeter, complete with a 100‑metre straight for sprint practice.
Darcy is a member of the Lambourn Youth Council and in an interview on 4LegsRadio, Darcy spoke about how the project is not just about fitness, but about bringing the community together.

The line marking machine is ready to go and the special marking paint has arrived. Now we just need the grass cut and some dry weather for the painting of the lines to begin. So keep your eyes peeled and running shoes at the ready.
It’s brilliant to see local ideas like Darcy’s being brought to life by the young people of the village — let’s get Lambourn moving!
