Twelve community representatives came together in Lambourn for a workshop organised by The Lambourn Junction in conjunction with Community Organisers, exploring how to build stronger connections and help local people work towards shared goals.
Led by Lachlan from Community Organisers, the session focused on the practical skills that help unite communities and turn ideas into positive action. Community Organisers is a national charity that provides training and support to help people come together around the issues that matter to them.
Listening was at the heart of the workshop: taking time to understand people’s needs, concerns and aspirations, and using that understanding to shape community activities. Participants also explored how to involve different organisations, build relationships and bring people together around a common purpose.

For Lambourn and the wider Lambourn Valley, this offers an opportunity to strengthen links between local groups, share skills and encourage more people to get involved. Working together can help us make better use of the energy, experience and goodwill within our community.
Participants found the workshop extremely useful and will be following up on what they learnt, with the aim of encouraging greater community cohesion and more positive activities across the valley.

A huge thank you goes to SNG, who very kindly sponsored the workshop and made this valuable opportunity possible. Thank you also to Lachlan and everyone who took part, bringing their time, ideas and commitment to helping our community thrive. An equal thanks goes to The Lambourn Sports Club for allowing the workshop to use their facilities – true community collaboration.
