The Lambourn Youth Council has some exciting news — Lambourn Parish Council has given the green light for a temporary running track to be painted around the perimeter of the old cricket field!

Earlier today, some of the team were out with measuring wheels and tape to map out the proposed route. The track will be 800 metres in total length and will include a 100-metre straight section along the top edge of the field, nearest the car park — perfect for sprint practice!

The track will be marked using the same harmless paint used on football pitches, so it’s safe for people, pets and the environment. It’s being designed with everyone in mind and will be open to all who want to exercise however don’t want to pound pavements or rutted tracks.

Our young Lambourn people will take on the task of maintaining the track, adding another brilliant example of youth involvement in our community.

Work on marking and painting the track will begin in the coming weeks — so do keep an eye out. A huge thank you to Lambourn Parish Council for their positive collaboration and support in making this happen.

Let’s get Lambourn moving! 💚
