The Lambourn Junction has established a Crisis Response Group to prepare for crisis situations and support one another when everyday services are disrupted. Responding to Government advice, it will develop a practical plan covering power cuts, flooding, severe weather, blocked roads and disruption to essential supplies and communications. Some residents have already raised questions about keeping warm, where to get sandbags, obtaining medicines and supporting people using medical equipment during power cuts.

The group brings together residents keen to assist, including people with experience in healthcare, business, council work and other areas.

You can read and add to the list of questions HERE – we are working on obtaining answers!

The group intends to work with Lambourn Parish Council, West Berkshire Council, SSE, Thames Water and other organisations to ensure that activities are co-ordinated and do not duplicate provisions already in place. Lambourn Junction is a member of Communities Prepared, a national organisation assisting communities to plan for crisis situations.

This is not an emergency service – if you have an emergency always call 999.

We are planning a residents meeting to listen to the ideas, questions and concerns of residents to help shape the plan. The date and venue will be announced shortly.
