The Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company is pleased to announce the launch of a new and innovative way of connecting residents with support services across the Lambourn Valley.

This unique signposting initiative places small, credit card sized information cards with trusted community locations including the Lambourn Pharmacy, Lambourn Surgery and Lambourn Library. Each card highlights a specific local service, such as the food bank, Citizens Advice and a range of other support organisations, with a brief description and clear contact details.

The idea has grown from the recognition that while many services are advertised through posters and leaflets, these can often be overlooked. By contrast, a simple, discreet card handed directly to someone by a trusted professional offers a more personal and meaningful introduction to the help available.

The project has been kindly sponsored by Green Commute Initiative. Joanna Flint commented, “As a local employer, we are very pleased to support this new service which helps ensure residents can easily access the support they need through trusted local connections.”

Lambourn Pharmacy owner Graham Jones said, “We are delighted to take part in this initiative and were pleased to support its design. It enables our pharmacy team to signpost people to services in a very personal and discreet way. This is more effective than relying on a noticeboard of posters.”

Louise Murray-Clarke, Practice Manager and Partner at Lambourn Surgery, commented, “We are very pleased to support this pilot, which offers a personal and practical way to connect patients with the wide range of support available in our community. At Lambourn Surgery, we will be placing the signposting cards in every consulting room, enabling our clinicians to share them directly with patients where appropriate.”

Christian Noll of the Lambourn Junction added, “There are many services available to support people in different situations, but not all are widely visible and some only accessible online. This approach allows trusted members of the community to guide individuals towards help in a simple and thoughtful way. A card can be kept and used when the time feels right.”
